Following a short military career as an officer in the Australian Regular Army, Jonathan worked for a number of councils in Western Australia, gaining senior leadership experience in human resources roles, prior to becoming a Chief Executive Officer in 2002.

Jonathan is currently the Chief Executive Officer at the Shire of Mundaring, which is located in Perth, Western Australia.

He is a Fellow and current National President of Local Government Professionals Australia, the peak representative body for local government professionals in Australia; and a Director of Local Government Professionals Australia (WA). He is also a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Jonathan’s values based leadership and commitment to his staff have resulted in a number of achievements, including being appointed as an Ambassador in the Year of Women in Local Government and being awarded the Local Government Professionals Medal for outstanding achievement and contribution to local government.

Despite being very satisfied with a varied and rewarding career, Jonathan says the most important part of his life is his family. With wife Justine he has four children – all still living at home!
