Rachel Townrow

Rachel grew up in Westport and has always considered Buller to be home.

She has worked for the Buller District Council since 2007, first as Community Services Officer then as Policy Planner, Team Leader Planning and Policy, and Group Manager Community Services.

Since the flood event in Westport during July 2020, Rachel has been in the Deputy Chief Executive Officer role, with an initial focus on leading the flood recovery programme. From 2 December 2022 Rachel will be Council's acting Chief Executive Officer.
