Sonya Korohina (Ngāti Porou, Whānau a Hunāra) is the Director of Supercut Projects, a consultancy established to support and grow the creative and heritage sectors. She has held positions at Artspace, Auckland Art Gallery, Elam School of Fine Arts, Toi Ohomai, Tauranga Art Gallery and Tauranga Arts Festival.
In 2017 she chaired ‘Toi Moana’ the Tauranga City Council/Western Bay of Plenty District Council Arts and Culture Strategy, and at present is working with Tauranga City Council to develop a Public Art Framework.
In 2020 Supercut Projects launched the free to download app ‘CITY ART WALK’. Recent art projects include ‘A Death of Prosperity’ 2021 by Darcell Apelu; digital heritage experience ‘Echoes: Tauranga Moana’ 2022; and ‘Midnight Sun’ 2022, an illuminated public artwork by artist Sara Hughes.
